Bloc Party might reunite later this year

British Indie rockers Bloc Party went on an indefinite hiatus after they wrapped up they 2009 fall tour tentatively called ‘Bloctober‘. But as of right now the hiatus doesn’t appear to be as indefinite as it had first appeared, Bloc Party’s guitarist Russel Lissack stated in an interview with NME that “We’re probably going to pick up again with Bloc Party later this year” and that “We’re definitely not splitting up, there’s a lot more creative life left in it yet“. Apparently the band wrote a lot of songs during their last tour and that those songs may still be realized in the studio.

Until that happens we still have Russel’s solo project Pin Me Down to look forward to, and he says it is his chance to “celebrate pop music“. Bloc Party’s lead singer Kele Okereke is also working on a solo project that’s to be produced by Hudson and Bloc Party bassist/back up vocalist Gordon Moakes is currently working with Paul Mullen of The Automatic and La Roux’s drummer William Bowerman on a side project titled ‘Young Legionnaire‘.

So there’s still a lot to look forward to for all of us Bloc Party fans.
